Eden Park is New Zealand's largest and most hallowed Rugby stadium. It is the place where Rugby World Cup began when the Tournament kicked off on 22 May 1987 and it was here in June 1987 that the All Blacks defeated France 29-9 and became the very first team to win the Webb Ellis Cup.

The stadium's proud history boasts some of New Zealand's greatest sporting moments as well as Rugby World Cup 1987, it has also hosted other exciting events including the 1950 Empire Games and the 1992 Cricket World Cup. Eden Park Stadium has also played host to many of Rugby's most famous test matches.

The stadium redevelopment was completed in late 2010 and will give 60,000 Rugby fans the opportunity to experience a spectacular line up of matches from the Opening Ceremony right through to the Final in what promises to be a truly amazing Rugby World Cup 2011.
