From the moment people arrive in Rotorua, they know they’re somewhere wholly unique.
Rotorua International Stadium, Rotorua
Capacity: 34,000
Address: Devon Street West, Rotorua
The Rotorua International Stadium has seen a lot of international events in its time, from the Raggamuffin Music Festival, to opera singer Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and UB40.
But it is Rugby that the stadium is mainly used for. Being home to the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union, it has also hosted many international events including the British and Irish Lions tests, and was also the setting for the Bronze Final at the inaugural Rugby World Cup 1987.
Rotorua International Stadium will see a big influx of Fijian and Samoan supporters for two exciting matches. Then the Irish arrive en massse – so expect a happy sea of emerald green and an epic atmosphere inside the ground.
